Digital Policy — is THE political voice of the digital economy.

About the Department

With the Digital Policy Department, which is the central committee for political topics in the BVDW, we take into account the prominent position of our topics in politics and society. In their diversity, the topics determine the agenda of the Federal Government, the Bundestag and the European institutions. The department is responsible for determining and formulating association and industry policy positions on all current regulatory projects and represents these to decision-makers in politics and administration. It is therefore responsible for the association’s political work.

Mission

Our mission is to promote an innovative and data-driven economy that meets the needs of the digital economy and supports its growth.

Vision

We strive for an advantageous digital future. The key to this is the combination of data, creativity and responsibility. We want to leverage the potential of data, preserve regulatory space for innovation and promote trust in digital business models.

Scope

As part of our political work, we are committed to data, creativity and responsibility. We act as an intermediary between politics and business. We develop association and industry policy positions, hold discussions with all relevant stakeholders and thus contribute the expertise of our members to the political process. We also publish statements and provide information on current political debates via various channels and formats.
